Aad Chand Mala
Aad Chand means Half Moon, and there are two significant variations of the Aad Chand worn by Akali Sikhs. The more common one features a crescent moon symbol with a khanda sword at its centre and decorative elements below the crescent. The other less common variation features three bladed weapons (two curved swords on either side of a central khanda sword), all within the crescent moon. This second variation is called a Gajgah and is traditionally worn by warriors who have proven themselves in the battleground.
